Our traditional venue is Riverfront Park in Sedro-Woolley and we love to be close to our own Skagit River! We have common tents (provided annually by the Sims family) and some classes bring their own. Most classes provide signage! And it's so fun to see the photo boards popping up around the park.
We tried something new with the food this year, and eliminated the catered lunch. Attendees were welcome to bring their own meals and we had a food truck on site with a menu of favorites for people to buy. It was a wonderful solution to the issues we have had with getting the right food for everyone and the pre-registration work that goes with it. So thanks for being part of our great experiment and we hope you liked it!
We did charge a $5 admission to cover our costs in setting up the picnic and to fund our scholarship program.
Check back here, check our Facebook page, and check the 2019 newsletter to see if we keep exactly the same arrangement next year or if we tweak it a little. Our wrap-up meeting is July 20th and you are invited to attend and get involved! See our Facebook page for the time and place.
Here is a set of photos by Dani Baird for you to enjoy. Thanks again for being CUBS!!
Picnic chair emerita, Barbara Thompson, had a relaxing time
