SWHS All-Class Picnic July 12, 2014 Riverfront Park in Sedro-Woolley!

Are you ready for CUBS??  The SWHS Alumni association once again has planned an outstanding picnic for all classes!  So get your advance reservation in and join the fun!  Is your class planning to sit together?  To bring a sign?  To put up a tent?  Are you having a reunion year?  So many are!!

The picnic lunch is catered by Joy's Bakery - Janet and Mike Joy are CUBS, too!  When you make your prepaid reservation - $15 in advance - specify a hamburger or chicken entrée.  We'll get you into the right line at serving time.

Speaking of the buffet line, did you know that the "oldest" classes go first?  As it should be...we love to recognize those who are the most "vintage" CUBS attending the picnic!

 

We also have some fund-raising raffles to benefit our scholarship fund during the picnic.  So don't be shy, buy some tickets and help send the rising CUBS to school!  The SWHS AA awards scholarships every year to grads pursuing a vocational career.  There are lots of qualified grads who need some help meeting college/tech school expenses.  We just awarded five $2000 scholarships to Class of 2014 members!

So join in the fun!  Mail in your advance reservation NOW.  PO Box 509, Sedro-Woolley WA 98284.  Include your graduation year and contact info.  Come on out to Riverfront Park on July 12th - the event generally starts at 11, but early arrival is ok.  Lunch at noon.  Plan to meet your friends at the All-Class Picnic!

Cost at the door without a reservation is $20, if there are lunches available.  Make that advance reservation now!

Monthly Meeting Wednesday, June 18, 2014 1:00 p.m. SW Senior Center

It's crunch time!  All details about the All-Class Picnic on July 12th will be discussed and firmed up at our monthly meeting on June 18th.  Come to the meeting and make sure you are involved with the picnic!  As with all events, they are more fun when you have a role to play. 

And if your class would like to put up a separate tent at Riverfront Park for the picnic, please let us know.  We do a complete diagram of where everything will be arranged, so we need to know about your tent ASAP!

Does your class have a sign?  Make sure to bring it to the picnic!  If you don't have one, you could still order or make one!

Mostly, be SURE to send your prepaid reservation to the Alumni Association by July 1.  $15 prepaid/$20 at the door.  Specify an entrée of chicken or hamburger and include your class year.

Send in your dues at the same time!  $10 for annual dues, $100 for a lifetime membership.

Monthly meeting Wednesday May 21, 2014 - Picnic Planning!

Come on out to the SWHS AA monthly meeting on May 21st and hear about the success of the Geranium/Tomato/Chive plant sale!  As well as to get the scoop on this year's All Class Picnic!

The Picnic planning goes on all year around - but it's certainly getting close now!  Saturday, July  12th  is the date!  NOW is the time to make your paid reservation - $15 in advance and be sure to choose an entree of chicken or hamburger.  Latecomers pay $20 at the door.  You can make your reservation at the meeting on May 21st!  A great time to do it and volunteer to help at the event.  It's alway more fun if you have a job to do so you can meet and greet your fellow Cubs!

Several classes are planning their reunion event the same day as the Picnic, and some are putting up their own tents.  Our Picnic Committee needs to know if your class is bringing a tent, so we can map out the space in the park.

If you, your business, or your class would like to SPONSOR one of the shuttle golf carts we use to get people from the lower parking lot to the upper Picnic area, please let us know.  We'll do our best to advertise your generosity and your help allows more proceeds from the Picnic to go toward the vocational scholarships we love to award!

See you on May 21st, June 18th (June meeting), and July 12th at the Picnic!!

Geranium and tomato plant sale a big success! With chives!

THANKS to everyone who came by today and bought plants at our scholarship fundraiser!  As usual, we announced the official start time at 9 a.m. but LOTS of people come early.  Things were hopping with geraniums, tomato plants, baked goodies, free coffee, and a surprise addition, chive plants!  So much fun to see local folks turn out to support our local CUBS!
